This following story will be written into a history book without a shadow of a doubt.

In 2013 a Norwegian named Kristoffer Koch remembered that he had invested 150 kroner ($26.60) in 5,000 bitcoins in 2009, after discovering them during the course of writing a thesis on encryption.

As most of us probably know Bitcoins are stored in encrypted wallets secured with a private key, something Koch had forgotten. After eventually working out what the password could be, Koch got a pleasant surprise:

“It said I had 5,000 Bitcoins in there. Measuring that in today’s rates it’s about NOK 5m ($886,000.00),” Koch told NRK.

Now it is worth noting that during the writing of this article 1 Bitcoin is worth staggering $4,577.00. Which would make his initial investment of $26.60 equal to $22,885,000.00 a gain out of this world.

One single Bitcoin is expected to trade around $100,000.00 by 2020.
